Frequently asked questions

What are the system requirements?: macOS 26 (Tahoe) or later, exclusively on Macs with Apple Silicon. Foundation Models (Apple Intelligence) is not available on earlier macOS versions.
Does Dobby delete files without asking?: No. Only items classified as safe come pre-selected. To delete, you confirm by typing DELETE.
How does developer cleanup work?: The scan detects DerivedData, Xcode simulators, npm/Yarn/pnpm caches, Gradle, pip, and project artifacts — grouped in the Development section.
Do I need internet to use Dobby?: Not for scanning and cleaning. Apple Intelligence requires macOS 26 with the feature enabled; without it, local heuristics continue working offline.
Does Dobby work offline?: Yes. Scanning and heuristic classification do not require an internet connection.
How do I uninstall Dobby?: Drag the app to the Trash. Optionally remove ~/Library/Application Support/Dobby.
